About Me

Charis-Jericho Berglin is a multidisciplinary artist specializing in character design and storytelling. Graduating from George Fox University in 2025 with eyr Bachelor’s in Illustration and Graphic Design, ey use art as a way of connecting with others and deepening empathy for those around us.
Charis is enthusiastic about building relationships across social spheres; with learning disabilities such as ADHD and Autism, identifying as Queer and Aspec, and proclaiming Christian beliefs from a homeschooled education, ey continue to put a firm foot forward by planting seeds for diverse communities rooted in compassion.
Born in rural Michigan and now living near the big city of Portland, Oregon, Jericho was raised to be resourceful, quick-witted, and open-minded. Ey take pride in being a team player, using eyr natural disposition for leadership to knit people together. As someone oriented towards solving problems, Jericho is ready to rise to the task when the heat is on.
For the most part, however, CJ avoids cold professionalism on principle. Ey use neopronouns as a casual spice for daily conversation and go by whichever name eyr gang of dorks enjoys most. More than anything, ey always strive to be a friendly face. No matter the problem, Charis is thrilled to work alongside you and find the solution.
What do you do?
Well, that's a loaded question! I do a whole lot! I love writing stories and creating characters, which comes through my art primarily with fanart of media I like or original characters I've designed. In that sense, I am trying to do basically everything that can help me make those stories real. Artist by trade, hobby writer by night.
I "do" primarily digital illustrations using Clip Studio Paint, Photoshop, and good ol' Microsoft Paint, but I also love Screen Printing, Oil Pastels, Gel Pens, Colored Pencils, and a lot of other traditional media I'm still getting the hang of.
Graphic Design can feel alien to me, but I've spent a while studying it to understand it better. I'm no stranger to Web Design, Branding, Packaging, and the whole shebang- Even if a lot of the principles sometimes feel a little arbitrary and baffling. I really like Surface Pattern Design, but I haven't had the chance to explore it a lot yet. Expect that to change soon.
On top of that, I'm currently exploring animation, particularly 3D Modeling in Blender, and all the fun and exciting applications of that field.
I do a lot. I love trying new things and seeing how my existing skills can be applied to other fields, and I'm constantly expanding my abilities into new areas. I don't want to stop growing or learning or trying new things. Soon, I hope to find something I can really specialize in, but for now, I am dipping my fingers into as many candles as I can reach.
